To kick-off Breast Cancer Awareness Month, West Campus<\/span><\/a>, 3800 N.W. 115th Ave., will host the opening ceremony of Fita de Rojas: Make a Difference an art exhibit by Gustavo Garcia in Room 1105 on Oct. 3 at noon. <\/span><\/p>\n

Garcia lost his mother to breast cancer, compelling him to create the exhibit.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>The art exhibit consists of 1,296 hand-painted portraits of individuals who were all connected to a single cancer victim, with a portrait of the victim in the center and several explanatory frames throughout the sides,\u201d said Sara Alegr\u00eda, the associate director of learning resources at West Campus.<\/span><\/p>\n
