Jonathan Perez, 23, who served as the sports editor for <\/span>The Reporter <\/span><\/i>during the 2012-2013 school year, landed a job with CBS affiliated television station WMAZ in Macon, Georgia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Perez began working with WMAZ on Sept. 6 as a multi-skilled sports journalist. His duties will include reporting and covering various sports \u00a0practices, <\/span>writing, shooting, and editing news stories for on-air broadcasting and packaged reports. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m extremely grateful for my family and friends and <\/span>The Reporter<\/span><\/i>,\u201d Perez said. \u201cIt was my starting point as a journalist.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

While at <\/span>The Reporter<\/span><\/i>, Perez said he learned how to ask the right questions. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Perez graduated from the Honors College at Kendall Campus in 2013 and transferred to the University of Florida<\/span><\/a>, where he graduated with a bachelor\u2019s degree in telecommunications in 2015. <\/span><\/p>\n

In Gainesville, he was involved with the UF student broadcast media. He also interned at Miami\u2019s NBC 6 in 2014.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
