The Palmetum and Outdoor Learning Environment at North Campus, 11380 N.W. 27th Ave., \u00a0offers guided nature walks, workshops and sustainability events to more than 50,000 students, children and families each year. Workshops and tours are available by appointment for all ages. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Palmetum at North Campus grants endless opportunities,\u201d said Joseph Gross, Palmetum director. <\/span><\/p>\n

At the Palmetum visitors can observe numerous herb and vegetable gardens, a green urban living center, a butterfly garden, an open-air nursery, a bio-dome greenhouse and an orchid house with more than 55 species. Students can complete service learning hours at the garden as well as participate in beautification projects using student-grown plants. <\/span><\/p>\n
