TheDream.US Scholarship Accepting Applications

Applications for the TheDream.US Scholarship are being accepted until Feb. 28.

Eligible students must have DACA, TPS or have been in the United States without legal status since November 1, 2016. They must also have graduated from a high school in the U.S. with a GPA of at least 2.5, have less than 21 credits from a community college or four-year institution and demonstrate financial need. 

Recipients will receive up to $16,500 toward an associate’s degree and $33,000 toward a bachelor’s degree. The award covers tuition and fees at a partner college. Some candidates may also be eligible for a yearly stipend of $1,000. 

Partner colleges include Broward College, Florida International University, Miami Dade College, Palm Beach State College, University of South Florida, University of Central Florida, Valencia College and Florida Atlantic University. 

Applicants must plan to enroll in a full-time baccalaureate program by no later than the spring term of the 2022-23 school year. Students can apply online through TheDream.US website.

Juan S. Gomez, 21, is a psychology major in The Honors College at the Kendall Campus. Gomez, who graduated from Robert Morgan Educational Center in 2021, will serve as editor-in-chief, briefing editor and forum editor for The Reporter during the 2022-2023 school year.
