Three Lady Sharks Earn First-Team All-Suncoast Conference Honors In Volleyball

Outside hitters Romina Cornelio and Ana Tevdoradze and setter Alexandra Koleva earned First-Team All-Suncoast Conference honors.

Cornelio was also selected as the 2022 Suncoast Conference Player of The Year. She led the Lady Sharks with a .340 hitting percentage and added 3.36 kills per set this season.

Tevdoradze had 2.94 kills per set and 486 total attacks. 

Koleva, who was named the Division I setter of the week three times this season by the Florida College System Activities Association, led the team with 8.40 assists per set and added 130 digs.

In addition, sophomores Kiaraliz Perez and Jazmin Vergara were selected Second-Team All-Suncoast Conference. Perez, who has been out of the lineup for the last eight games due to a mild posterior cruciate ligament injury, led the team with 6.04 digs per set and Vergara had 205 kills with a .298 hitting percentage. 

The Lady Sharks ended the regular season with a 19-6 mark and are ranked No. 7 in the country. They are playing Polk State College on Nov. 4 at 3 p.m. in Melbourne, FL at the FCSAA State Tournament.

Scarlling Manzanarez

Scarlling Manzanarez, 21, is a mass communication/journalism major at North Campus. Manzanarez, who graduated from Las Brisas Baptist High School in Nicaragua in 2018, will serve as the sports editor for The Reporter during the 2022-2023 school year. She is a baseball fan and aspires to write about sports wherever she goes.
