Three Students Selected for International Conference

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee selected Darryl Arcales, Sandra Meckler and Rosa Villa to attend the 2011 Winter Saban Conference in Washington D.C. from Dec. 18 through Dec. 21
Students were picked based on academic records, interest in global community involvement and student leadership.
Arcales and Meckler are the founders of the International Rescue Committee, an organization that helps refugees in Miami rebuild their lives.
Meckler serves as the Director of Services of Phi Theta Kappa, and Arcales is Student Government Treasurer at the Wolfson Campus. Villa is the Student Government Secretary at the Wolfson Campus.
The 2011 Winter Saban Conference will welcome 400 students from schools throughout the country to promote positive relations between the United States and Israel. The students will be trained in Middle Eastern political issues, theory, diplomacy, policy making and how to promote involvement at their campus.
