Tony Award-Winning Musical To Be Showcased At NWSA

New World School of the Arts, 25 N.E. 2nd St., will showcase Parade from Feb. 14-22 at the Louise O. Gerrits Theater on the 8th floor.

There will be evening performances at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 14, 15, 21 and 22. The daytime showings at 2 p.m. will be held on Feb. 16 and 23.

Parade is a Tony Award-winning musical set in Atlanta in 1913 and based on a novel by Alfred Uhry. It follows the trial of Leo Frank, who was wrongfully convicted for raping and murdering a 13-year-old girl, Mary Phagan.

Students of the NWSA Theater program will explore themes of love, perseverance and antisemitism through their performances.

General admission tickets are available for $15 for nwsa.mdc.edu/nwsa-college-about/nwsa-college-event-calendar/eventdetail/3814/-/parade.html. Students receive a $10 discount.
