Tower Theater Screens Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte Live From Paris

The Tower Theater, located at 1508 S.W. 8th St., will present a live broadcast of Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutte at the Opera de Paris in France on Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. as part of its World Stage Series.

The opera deals with two young men who are prompted by an old philosopher to test the loyalty of their lovers. Both lie to their lovers claiming they have been called off to war, and instead disguise themselves and proceed to seduce each other’s girlfriends.

“It’s a very funny story and a classic one,” said Orlando Rojas, film programmer and manager of the Tower Theater. “It is appealing to young people and is a good mix.”

World Stages Series features recordings of famous ballets, operas and other performances. Some of those recordings will be featured live on the same day as their performances. The series will continue until July 20.

Tickets can be purchased at the door for $15 for the general public and $11 for Miami Dade College students.
