Try These Can’t Miss Food Spots In Miami

Wandering through the streets during my time as a student at Miami Dade College has led me to some great food places. These are some of my favorite places to grab a bite near Wolfson Campus or in the Brickell and Wynwood area.

Bobe Kitchen & Bakery

Located at 236 N.E. 4th St., in front of the 3000 building at Wolfson Campus, Bobe Kitchen & Bakery offers homemade Argentinian and Jewish cuisine crafted with fresh ingredients. The menu ranges from breakfast items such as French toast and waffles to shawarma and salads. My personal recommendation would be the morning melt and the blueberry muffins. The venue offers excellent customer service, a warm atmosphere and welcoming space for studying or a casual outing. The bakery’s working hours are from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Go Greek Yogurt

Just a few blocks from the Wolfson Campus at the Miami Worldcenter at 851 N.E. 1st Ave. is Go Greek Yogurt. It offers authentic Greek frozen yogurt with seasonal flavors and customizable bowls that can be topped off with fresh fruit and a variety of candy. While it is priced higher than a usual yogurt place, it’s still worth the visit to try the unique flavors. The helpfulness of the staff and Mediterranean atmosphere transports you out of Miami into a space that breaks away from the city heat. Operating hours are from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. during weekdays, so if you’re craving a sweet and healthy treat after class, Go Greek Yogurt is a must visit.

The Empanadas

Right next to Bobe is The Empanadas, 230 N.E. 4th St., an Argentinian cuisine coffee shop. With multiple locations across Miami, the eatery has traditional empanadas with fillings such as beef, chicken and vegan-friendly options. If you’re looking to satiate a sweet craving, the menu is not limited to just savory empanadas, they offer handcrafted gelato to cool off from the heat. The easygoing vibe of the café makes it a perfect spot to study before class or grab a quick lunch with friends. On weekdays, you can find the shop open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Paris Baguette

A great new addition to Miami, the multinational bakery, Paris Baguette, recently opened in Wynwood at 2217 N. Miami Ave.  The South Korean chain opened its doors for the first time this summer with a French inspired menu that has endless pastries and refreshing drinks. From soufflé cheesecake slices to garlic croissants, there is something for everyone. The mood and aesthetics of the café make it a great place to hangout and catch up on work during the hours of 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

MYRA Greek Frozen Yogurt

Making its way to Brickell, MYRA Greek Frozen Yogurt has expanded from Lincoln Road to its newest location at 777 Brickell Ave. The popular sweet spot operates in the form of a food truck under the views of the city’s skyline. Its simple menu consists of three flavors with toppings such as nuts and fruits. This healthy froyo truck can be pricey, but it’s worth trying it. My personal favorite order is a combination of the berry and plain yogurt with crumble cookie topping. MYRA is a social spot open from 12:05 p.m. to 12:05 a.m. that makes it ideal to meet with friends or loved ones.
