U.S. Department Of Energy Accepting Applications For STEM Internship Programs

Applications for the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science’s Community College Internships are open until Jan. 7.

The program offers community college students the chance to expand their technical skills and explore STEM career pathways by interning at one of the 17 DOE research laboratories in the U.S.

Internships run for ten weeks and participants are paid a weekly stipend of $650.

Students will work alongside researchers and technicians in fields such as engineering, computer science, environmental science and energy systems.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, enrolled full-time at an accredited two-year college, have completed at least 12 credit hours and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

The application requires three recommendations, academic transcripts and four different essays about their technical and research experience, subject interests, personal experiences and professional goals.

Recipients will be notified by April 15.
