Nicole Encinas won a $300 bookstore scholarship through the Virtual College’s Instagram contest, Around the World-Online! Encinas entered the contest by posting a photo of her sitting in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. The contest winner was chosen from a random selection on Aug. 10.
“I will travel again soon, but this time I am staying until I earn an RN [registered nurse] in nursing,” Encinas said.
In order to participate, students had to follow the new account MDCVirtualCollege on Instagram and post a photo of themselves, geotag their location and tag the Virtual College to show everyone where they had visited while taking their summer courses. When the term ended, there were more than 50 submissions.
