The Reporter—Miami Dade College’s award-winning newspaper—is looking for students interested in writing, reporting, photography, illustration and graphic design.

Since its inception on Oct. 4, 2010, The Reporter has informed all eight MDC campuses. It has offices at North Campus, 11380 N.W. 27 Ave., Room 4209; Wolfson Campus, 300 N.E. Second Ave., Room 1610; and Kendall Campus, 11011 S.W. 104 St.,Room M-239. 

In the last 12 years, the paper has won four National Pacemakers from the Associated Collegiate Press and 178 awards from the Florida College System Publications Association.

Last February, The Reporter was honored as the top community college student newspaper in Florida for the 12th consecutive year by the FCSPA.

Nikole Valiente, 21, is a mass communication/journalism major at North Campus. Valiente, who graduated from City of Hialeah Educational Academy in 2022, will serve as managing editor for The Reporter during the 2024-25 school year. She was the paper's editor-in-chief last year and aspires to work as a journalist.
