Storytellers Share Craft

Writers Nicholas Garnett and Esther Martinez will lead writers in the process of how to put together a story of their own through the Miami Book Fair’s seven-week-long course, How to Tell True Stories.

Meetings are held every Tuesday starting Feb. 21 to April 5 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Wolfson Campus. A specific room has not been assigned yet.

Students will be given the opportunity to receive feedback from classmates while taking the course, covering the key aspects of story-writing.

“No previous writing experience is necessary,” Garnett said. “Only the willingness to share your story with others.”

Garnett and Martinez, both master of fine arts graduates of Florida International University, are also co-producers for Lip Service, a live reading event done twice a year where eight chosen contestants present their story before a live audience.

The fee for the class is $190, and can paid for at www.miamibookfair.com.
