Shepard told the story of her son Matthew Shepard, a 21-year-old student at the University of Wyoming, who was brutally beaten and left to die because of his sexual orientation. MARK PULASKI / THE REPORTER West Side Story: Kendall Campus Music, Theater and Dance students performed Jan. 25 at the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center in the Kendall Comes Alive Performing Arts Showcase. Students danced and sang along to a love story about an American man and a Puerto Rican woman who attempt to overcome their cultural differences in the name of love.
