Magda Castineyra has been selected as the new director of the Honors College at InterAmerican Campus. Her first day on the job was September 16.
“I’m thrilled to be here,” Castineyra said.
Castineyra, 52, brings 20 years of work at public and private school such as New World School of the Arts and Barry University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in higher education at Barry University.
Castineyra plans to work closely with the Miami Book Fair International to bring Hispanic authors to students. She also intends to arrange workshops that help ease the strain of the transferring process.
“This is still the honeymoon phase of my career, but I know it’s going to take a lot of dedication,” she said.
