MDC Media Conference To Be Held Virtually On Dec. 4

The first-ever MDC Media Conference will be held virtually on Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

It will include workshops, panels, and breakout groups for topics such as poetry, design, social media, first amendment rights and editing.

Five guest speakers will make an appearance: North Campus English professor Christina Fulton; multimedia journalist Anto Chavez; graphic design and computer animation professor Eric Cornish, who teaches at the School of Entertainment & Design Technology; digital media strategist Susanne Ramirez; and journalist Mark Witherspoon.

The event was organized by English professors Emily Sendin (from the Eduardo J. Padrón Campus) and Carmen Bucher (from North Campus). The event is sponsored by the Humanities Edge

“I think [this conference] will open students’ eyes to different possibilities,” Sendin said. “Seeing the perspective of other artists and writers and designers will give students the opportunity to broaden their horizons.”

Students can RSVP for the event here. They will receive a link for the event after registering.
