MOAD Hosts The Exile Experience: A Journey To Freedom

The College’s Museum of Art + Design is hosting a permanent exhibition, The Exile Experience: A Journey to Freedom, at the Freedom Tower, 600 Biscayne Blvd. The pictorial account depicts the struggles that the exiled Cuban population had to endure during the rise of the island nation’s communist president Fidel Castro.

MOAD is housed at MDC’s Freedom Tower, which was the original Cuban refugee center known as the ‘Ellis Island of the South,’ that was operated by the U.S. government from 1962 to 1974.

MOAD is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and every third Saturday 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
