Virtual Workshop Teaches Leadership Through Hip-Hop

Homestead Campus’ Student Life Department is hosting What The Elements of Hip Hop Teach You About Effective Leadership on Feb. 17 from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.

The workshop will review 40 years of hip-hop history and teach students how to identify leadership vision and work and communicate with diverse leaders. It will also define and discuss the five elements of hip-hop: rap, deejaying, breakdancing, graffiti art and knowledge.

Activities will include a live DJ playing influential songs and lyrics and recounting stories about leadership and shared lessons.

What The Elements of Hip Hop Teach You About Effective Leadership will be presented by Jeff Dess and Lenny Williams, the founders of Trill or Not Trill. It is a leadership institute that drives unconventional audiences to student success and professional development.
