MDC-TV Wins Sixth Consecutive Suncoast Regional Emmy

For the sixth consecutive year, MDC-TV has won a Suncoast Regional Emmy. The announcement was made during a virtual ceremony by The National Academy of Television Arts & Science on Dec. 11.

The award is regarded as the highest achievement for television and media professionals.  MDC-TV has won seven Suncoast Emmys and received 14 nominations.

This year’s winner was in the musical composition and arrangement category for the musical work River of the Last Valley, which was part of the United We Stand project. The winning team includes orchestral director Alberto Bade, composer Michele Josia and audio engineer Humberto Casanova.

“It’s thrilling to be recognized,” Bade said. “For me, the best part is to share it with others. Projects like these are not the work of one individual or even two or three, it takes a whole team of really talented people that are great at what they do.”

Bade initiated the project after seeing the opportunity to collaborate remotely with MDC’s orchestra students and musicians from all over the world—like Spain, Honduras, Panama, Romania and Mexico—during the pandemic.
