Director Of Specialized Projects & Strategic Communication Selected

Amanda Busse was tabbed as Director of Specialized Projects & Strategic Communication in the President’s Office at Miami Dade College.

Busse, 28, who started in May, will produce strategic communications aligned with MDC’s mission. 

“I hope to impact the students by helping President Madeline Pumariega further her vision in ensuring that MDC provides an exceptional learning environment that challenges students and empowers them to attain their academic and career goals,” Busse said. 

Prior to her current role, Busse worked for three years as an associate producer and a news producer at CBS Miami. In 2018, she served as manager of special projects at the University of Miami until she became the director of communications in 2019. 

In 2011, Busse received an associate in arts in journalism from Miami Dade College. Three years later, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Emerson College. In 2021, she earned her master’s degree in media management from UM.

Veronica Romano, 18, is a mass communication/journalism major at Wolfson Campus. Romano, who graduated from Miami Beach Senior High School in 2021, will serve as briefing writer for The Reporter during the 2022-2023 school year. She aspires to work in the media industry.
