Wolfson Jazz Ensembles To Perform At Jazz At Wolfson

The Jazz At Wolfson Presents series will host the Wolfson Jazz Ensembles at the Wolfson Campus auditorium, 300 N.E. Second Ave, Room 1261, on Oct. 31 at 5:40 p.m.

It will feature the Horace Silver and Blue Note groups and the award-winning Hard Bop Jazz Ensemble.

The Horace Silver group pays tribute to pianist and composer Horace Silver, whose Jazz quartet—the Jazz Messengers—pioneered the hard bop style with blues and gospel-oriented tunes during the 1950s and ‘60s.

Blue Note group honors Blue Notes Records, the jazz record label known for facilitating the diffusion of hard bop, post-bop and avant-garde jazz.

The Hard Bop Jazz Ensemble base their sound on the extension of “bebop” and has performed in Switzerland, Italy and the Netherlands, receiving awards in composition and performance from DownBeat Magazine

All Jazz At Wolfson Presents events are free and open to the public.
