North Campus Receives $500,000 Lowe’s Foundation Grant

Miami Dade College’s North Campus was awarded a $500,000 grant by the Lowe’s Foundation for the development of its Construction Trades Institute, a program aimed at preparing students for the skilled-trades industry.

The endowment was announced at the College’s monthly Board of Trustees meeting on Jan. 16 at Wolfson Campus.

It will pay for the tools, equipment, professional development and curriculum building. The CTI is estimated to be completed by fall of 2025.

“A big overall goal of ours is to ensure that more students have these opportunities [to] go into the workforce to meet a need,” said Evelyn Rodriguez, the senior director of campus administration at North Campus.
