School Of Education Renames Center For Professional Development

The School of Education’s Center for Professional Development at Eduardo J. Padrón Campus, a hub that offers certifications and training for teachers to advance their careers, has a new name—Excellence Center for Educator Learning.

The rebranding, which was announced on July 30, aims to bring awareness to the center’s programs and resources, such as their Educator Preparation Institute, a program that helps people with a bachelor’s degree in a non-education major obtain a teaching certificate in Florida.

It also sheds light on the SOE’s partnerships—like their collaboration with the Teacher Accelerator Program, a non-profit organization that trains aspiring educators to become teachers, and Pace Center for Girls, where teachers are offered professional development courses based on their communities’ needs.
