Information Sessions To Assist Naturalization Applications

As part of the New Americans Campaign, Miami Dade College in partnership with Catholic Legal Services, will host information sessions to assist members of the community, staff and students to complete their naturalization applications.

During the information sessions, staff and immigration attorneys will explain how to apply for citizenship as well as eligibility requirements. Staff will explain how to register for naturalization. Participants should be prepared to complete the process at a Free Citizenship Clinic on March 19, at Marlins Park, which MDC is supporting. There will be more than 400 volunteers, including more than 150 attorneys at the Citizenship Clinic in March.

The New Americans Campaign is a national and local partnership that provides free legal assistance and increases awareness about naturalization.

MDC Naturalization Information sessions are scheduled on the following dates:

—North Campus, 11380 N.W. 27 Ave., Room A104 on Saturday, Feb. 20 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

—Kendall Campus, 11011 S.W. 104 St., Room R402/403 on Saturday, Feb. 27 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

—Hialeah Campus, 1780 W. 49 St., Room 5101 on Monday, Feb. 29 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

—Wolfson Campus, 300 N.E. 2 Ave., Room 2106 on Tuesday, March 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

—West Campus, 3800 N.W. 115 Ave., Room 1108 on Saturday, March 5 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

—InterAmerican Campus, 627 S.W. 27 Ave., Room 3103 on Tuesday, March 8 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

—Homestead Campus, 500 College Terrace, Room F222, on Saturday, March 12 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The information sessions and clinics are free, but applicants are responsible for paying the $680 filing fee to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
