Petite Selected To Citrus Conference First-Team

Michael Petite, an outfielder for the Miami Dade College baseball team, was selected to the Citrus Conference First-Team by the Florida College System Athletic Association.

Petite, a sophomore, led the team with a .367 batting average. He also had 12 home runs, 41 runs batted in and 22 stolen bases.

Two other Sharks, Cian Copeland and Jordan Vargas, were tabbed to the Citrus Conference Second-Team.

Copeland, an infielder, led the team in home runs (15) and RBI (51) and was second on the squad with a .367 BA.

Vargas, a sophomore, led the pitching staff with a 10-2 record and recorded 63 strikeouts and a 3.90 earned run average.

The Sharks finished the season with a 31-23 mark, including an 18-15 conference record.
