MDC’s Physician Assistant Program Earns Top Honors At National Medical Challenge Bowl

The students in the physician assistant program at Miami Dade College have continued to rack up successes this year.

On May 27, a three-person team from MDC Edgar Martinez, Christian Atkins and Maikel Hernandezfinished in fourth place at the National Challenge Bowl Competition in Washington, D.C. The team from MDC finished in front of a team from Yale University.  

Stanford University ultimately took first place.

At the Annual Physician Assistant Conference, which holds the medical competition, first-year student Ivan Baez, was nominated as president-elect for the Physician Assistants for Latino Health.

Baez will start his term after graduating in 2014.
