Miami International Film Festival Chooses Thirtieth Anniversary Poster

MIFF poster by artist Jean Marc Calvet.The Miami International Film Festival has selected artist Jean Marc Calvet’s artwork, Miami Juice, as the festival’s 30th anniversary poster.

The Miami International Film Festival will take place March 1 through 10, 2013, with movies screening in cinemas around Miami.

Calvet was the subject of the documentary Calvet, which screened at the film festival this year. The documentary tells the story of Calvet’s life struggles including drugs and being a mobster, and how he overcame them to become an artist.  

Miami Dade College students are eligible to receive two free tickets to four screenings from February 1 through 10.

Tickets for the public are $12 for screenings and $14 for gala; for MDC students tickets are $7 for screenings and $9 for galas. They can be purchased online or on the phone.
