Performing Arts Series Strives To Bring Culture To MDC

Cultura del Lobo (Spanish for “Culture of the Wolf”), a performing arts series that focuses on bringing unique live performances to South Florida from across the nation and abroad, was renamed this year to MDC Live! The name change is due to the fact that the original group, founded in 1990, was located solely at Wolfson Campus—hence the “Culture of the Wolf”—and to better represent the change in focus from strictly Hispanic and Caribbean-themed events, to those on a global scale.

MDC Live! will strive to expose thousands of students to culturally enriching material that would otherwise remain obscure. The series will feature a variety of multilingual and multicultural performances in an array of artistic disciplines such as dance, poetry and music, which promote and encourage the cultural diversity of the melting pot that is South Florida. Despite changing names, the series will embark on its 21st season.
