Joyner has more than 20 years of experience in student services and student affairs. For the past eight years, he worked at the executive level of  administration at Florida International University.

“I’m excited to be here and I’m looking forward to meeting all the students and to represent the students at Miami Dade College,” Joyner said.

Joyner will have three main responsibilities as dean of students. He will oversee the new student center, office of recruitment, international student services, testing, retention, transition services, ACCESS, academic affairs, student life organizations and career advisement.

The other piece of his job is to manage the office of the dean of students.
