MDC’s TurboVote Encourages The College To Be Election Ready

Turbo Vote logo.TurboVote is a free service that allows students, staff and faculty to register to vote for the upcoming general election. Those registered with TurboVote receive text and email reminders to update their voter information as well as a background on the ballot items.

“The state house and state senate races are particularly important for Miami Dade College students as decisions that directly affect tuition, the cost of textbooks, funding for MDC and many other issues are made at the state level,” said Joshua Young, the college-wide director of the Institute for Civic Engagement and Democracy.

The College has signed up more than 2,400 students already. The goal is to reach 4,000 students before the voter registration deadline on Oct. 11.
