Alejandro González Appointed As Executive Director Of The Idea Center At Miami Dade College
The Idea Center at Miami Dade College selected Alejandro González as its new executive director in December.
González will work to ensure that the center serves as an entrepreneurial hub for students and faculty of all eight campuses and of every discipline.
“We are coming back strong from this pandemic to empower our students to develop an entrepreneur mindset,” González said. “It’s a hub where activities benefit students first and foremost.”
Prior to coming to MDC, González worked as the director of public policy at the United Way of Broward County for more than a year. He has also served as a business development manager at WhereBy.Us, development and operations manager at 14ymedio, visiting lecturer at the University of Miami, a residential fellow at Reynolds Journalism Institute and senior analyst at The Montero Group.
González obtained his bachelor’s of science degree in foreign service, international relations and affairs in 2012 from Georgetown University. In 2019, he received his master’s degree in international development and public policy from the University of Chicago. He also completed a study abroad program in international relations and affairs at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro in 2011
