A child is the most innocent, blameless, and unblemished being that can exist.

Yet, millions of children have been murdered, and their murderers have been under the protection of the law since the early 1970s.

Abortion is among the most heinous crimes that exists; it contradicts what we stand for as a nation, and our basic human nature.

The March for Life in Washington DC, which I recently attended, is a peaceful protest in which hundreds of thousands of protesters stand united in honor of those children whose lives have been taken.

The march remained peaceful, despite opposition from the pro-choice supporters.

While we protested, pro-choice supporters physically stood in our way to stop our march.

Police who were assigned to watch over the march arrested several pro-choice supports in order to allow the march to continue.

Katie Konza, an MDC student from Wolfson Campus, also protested in The March for Life event, said that the protest brought many people together who believed in the right to live.

“It was amazing to see how many people were able to come together peacefully in protest of such a hateful crime,” Konza said.

The march also serves to raise awareness of the high abortion rates in our country, as well as voice pro-life arguments to our lawmakers.

Guttmacher.com reports that every three out of 10 women in America will have an abortion by the age of 45.

Put that in perspective and consider the amazing minds that could have been born and contributed to our society.

We rob them of a chance to live by keeping abortion legal.

During two separate meetings with Senator Marco Rubio, as well as Representative Mario Diaz-Balart, the lawmakers expressed their gratitude for the march and what it stands for.

Measures have been taken in favor of the pro-life movement recently.

The House of Representatives voted on, and passed a bill that would ban the federal funding of abortions should the Senate also approve.

This past year, around 300,000 protesters descended on Washington DC and onto the steps of the Supreme Court.

As the pro-life movement continues to pick up steam, the day when no child shall be legally killed draws closer.
