Benoit Takes Advantage Of Offseason To Hit Recruiting Circuit
Miami Dade volleyball head coach, Origenes Benoit led the Sharks to an 8-0 record in conference play and finished 24-4 overall last year. In his 12 years as an assistant and head coach at Miami Dade, College he has led the Sharks to a 336-19 mark, and won four NJCAA National titles as well as being national runner-up six times.
Benoit has been the driving force behind the Sharks international recruiting efforts and his year’s incoming class is just as talented as previous years.
Among the talented new players coming to Miami Dade in the fall are: Puerto Rican defensive player Stephanie Hernandez, Paola Avila, a middle blocker from Orlando, and two defensive Miami natives Guliana Ballarin, and Alexis Gandon.
With new players coming in, others are carrying on with their collegiate career and transferring out. Middle blocker Marifranchi Rodrigez will attend Columbia College, Missouri. Defense specialist Yukie Futami will transfer to Alabama, and Rosan Rivera, will attend Midway Nasacort University, Kansas.
When asked about the upcoming season’s expectation, Benoit said, “Like every year, go all the way win conference, state and nationals, that’s the main goal.”
