Environmental Non-Profit Accepting Applications For Conservation Leadership Initiative

Audubon Florida, a Miami-based environmental non-profit organization, is accepting applications for their 2024-25 Conservation Leadership Initiative through Sept. 23.

The program gives students hands-on experience, networking and resume-building opportunities in the environmental field.

Participants can engage in writing opportunities, work in conservation projects—restoring land, planting native plants and counting species in a population—and participating in research.

“A lot of people think Audubon is a birding club, and at the core, we really are an environmental protection non-profit,”said Kristen Kosik, the coordinator and support staff for Audubon’s 44 chapters. “I think that most of our students come away from the program with a completely different understanding of what Audubon does, and the role that environmental organizations play in protecting Florida.”
