Environmental Stability Is The Key To Fix US and Cuba Relationship
At the newly renovated Hialeah Campus a butterfly garden is to be built.
That garden will need new plants and animals.
Environmental sustainability brings about an important question, to whom and what region of this world does sustainability apply to?
What could make this butterfly garden spectacular, an avid enthusiast of nature might ask?
Bringing animals and plants from the Caribbean would be something to set this butterfly garden apart.
However, political drama will not allow us to speaking to certain countries.
One of those countries is Cuba, a country that has plants and animals we could easily bring over to liven up the Hialeah Campus.
Environmental stability is something that should not be held back due to political differences.
Cuba has been closed to the public for many years, with an increase in tourism, consumption of natural resources on the island have pressured Cuba to adopt a common principle between themselves and the USA.
In 2000, the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan was set in motion by an act of Congress.
This plan is the single most expensive and thorough restoration attempt in US history.
Unfortunately, its assertion and follow through has faced serious political complications.
I believe this “serious political complication” is the relations between USA and Cuba and the challenge in the dialogue this community has on this issue.
As the summit of the Americas is to take place this April, there was a focus on the relationship between Cuba and the USA.
Life has not been easy in Miami or in Havana throughout time.
In Cuba unfair trials, extrajudicial execution, and arbitrary imprisonment began to mirror the society in which this revolution despised.
Unfortunately, doing such a task as extracting a little plant to and from areas will cause a huge scene and brings up questions as to why are we dealing with Cuba.
Ultimately this self is the Earth itself.
Enough is enough.
Allow an ugly era in human history to fade away and normalize relation between the USA and Cuba.
I believe the channel to do so is through environmental sustainability.
