Former Multimedia Editor For The Reporter Hired By Univision

Anna Carabeo, who served as the first-ever multimedia editor of The Reporter, has been hired as a full-time news reporter for Univison in Orlando.

Carabeo, 23, is a reporter for the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts. She started her new position on August 27.

She graduated from the University of Florida in May of 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunication.

At UF, Carabeo was a part of the University’s Spanish language radio show Noticias where she reported, produced, and co-anchored the news program.

Carabeo also worked as a general assignment reporter at WCJB in Gainesville, Florida from March 2013 until August 2014.

During her time at the Miami Dade College, Carabeo, who graduated from the Honors College at North Campus in April of 2011, was a staff writer for The Reporter for two years. She  also interned at Telemundo.

“During my time at The Reporter, I learned what it is to be a reporter,” Carabeo said.

Nicolette Perdomo

Nicolette Perdomo, 19, is a Mass Communications/Journalism major in the Honors College at Kendall Campus. She will serve as Editor-In-Chief/Briefing Editor for the summer 2015 issue. During the 2015-2016 school year, Perdomo served as staff writer for The Reporter.Perdomo was home schooled and earned her high school diploma in 2013. She aspires to become a broadcast journalist.
