Former Reporter A/E Editor Lands Job At The Daily Beast
Corbin Bolies, who served as A&E editor at The Reporter from 2018 to 2019, started a job as a media reporter at The Daily Beast on May 23.
The 23-year-old will cover the media industry and contribute to Confider, the media coverage newsletter at The Daily Beast. He will also provide breaking politics news coverage.
“I hope to establish myself as a go-to media reporter, holding the institutions that hold power accountable,” Bolies said.
In addition to serving as A/E editor at The Reporter, Bolies also wrote for the briefing, forum and news sections. He assisted in covering Miami Dade College’s presidential search and co-bylined an article—the cost of hiring a new college president—that won a first-place award from the Florida College System Publications Association in January of 2021.
Bolies obtained his associate’s degree in journalism from Wolfson Campus in the summer of 2020. He then transferred to the University of Florida, where he completed his bachelors in journalism in April. During his time at UF, Bolies covered government and politics for The Alligator, WUFT News, and The Gainesville Sun.
