Former Reporter Wolfson Campus Bureau Chief Lands Job At CNN International

Valentina González Galvis, who served as Wolfson Campus bureau chief for The Reporter during the 2018-2019 school year, landed a full-time position as an associate producer for CNN International in Atlanta.  

González, who will start on Oct. 2, will manage reporters, ensure programs run smoothly and cover domestic, international and Latin American stories.  

“I’m really, really excited,” González said “[CNN] International is basically a milestone; the opportunities that open for you after are huge.” 

González began her journalism career at The Reporter in 2017, writing for the forum, news and briefing sections. She also  oversaw the paper’s distribution at Wolfson Campus.   

The 25-year-old, who graduated from Miami Dade College in 2019, started her professional career at América TeVé in July of 2019 on the archives desk and later as an on-air reporter. In April of 2021, she took a job with Univision as a news desk coordinator, where she worked for more than two years. 

In addition, she has worked as a freelancer on the newsdesk at CNN en Español in Miami. 

“I am pretty happy and I am proud to be representing the Latin American community,” said González, who was born in Colombia. “Every single assignment that I can do, even if it is [about] Guatemala, El Salvador, Colombia, Ecuador, that’s something that I am grateful for.

Isabella Arce

Isabella Arce, 19, is a pre-nursing major in The Honors College at Kendall Campus. Arce, who graduated from Downtown Doral Charter Upper School in 2023, will serve as editor-in-chief for The Reporter during the 2024-2025 school year. She aspires to be an international travel nurse, specializing in emergency care or pediatrics.
