Hialeah Campus To Offer Three New Certification Courses

Miami Dade College’s Hialeah Campus is launching three new certification courses this fall.

These certifications include:

  • Certified billing & coding specialist (0996-009): Students will learn the essentials of billing and coding—such as reviewing, paying, denying and appealing claims. The course will run from Sept. 10-Dec. 12 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. 
  • Certified medical administrative assistant (1229-002): This course will teach students how to operate computer systems, review electronic medical records and manage staff and prepare them for the National Healthcare Association certification exam. It will run from Sept. 16-Nov. 25 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-9 p.m. 
  • Project management ready (0909-003): Participants will learn skills such as planning, project execution, communication and risk management. The class will take place from Oct.11-Dec. 6 on Fridays from 6:30-10 p.m. 

Applicants must have a high school diploma and provide proof of in-state residency. 

Courses will be held through MDC Live.

 

Juliette Bryant

Juliette Bryant, 20, is an accounting major in the Honors College at Kendall Campus. Bryant, who graduated from Florida Christian School in 2023, will serve as a Briefing Editor for The Reporter during the 2024-2025 school year. She aspires to be a certified public accountant and eventually a chief financial officer.
