Homestead Campus Selects New Aviation Department Chairperson

Raymond Beasley was appointed as the chairperson of the aviation department at Homestead Campus on Jan. 7.

“I want to make a positive impact,” Beasley said. “I would like to offer an even better product to the students and therefore offer a better level of talent”

Beasley will provide academic leadership to the aviation department and facilitate learning, scholarships and services.

Prior to his current role, Beasley served a four-year term as an airport projects coordinator at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport.

From 1990 to 2017, he was a loadmaster in the special operations command of the United States Air Force, where he operated on variations of the C-130 while serving in seven different stations that included the Osan Air Base in South Korea.

The 52-year-old has also worked at the Okaloosa County Airports as a ramp agent for United Airlines and later as an operations coordinator for the three Okaloosa County airports.

Beasley earned a bachelor’s degree in airport management in 2019 and a master’s degree in sustainability studies in 2021 from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
