MDC Graduate Interns at Harvard Kennedy School
Giovana Rodrigues Manfrin, a 2014 North Campus graduate, landed an internship at the Women and Public Policy Program (WAPPP) at Harvard Kennedy School in Cambridge, Mass. She started in October and will intern until May.
“I am tremendously pleased and grateful to work with WAPPP,” said Manfrin, who will be assisting in projects, capacity building of programs and conducting background research. “I know it will advance my personal and professional prospects as I hope to fully devote my time, energy and experiences to this organization.”
WAPPP is a research program that has a goal of creating a gender-equal world; focusing heavily on closing gaps in economics, welfare, education, health and political participation. WAPPP relies on Harvard University faculty for accurate information.
During her two years at Miami Dade College, she joined the Model United Nations, cofounded the International Relations Club and volunteered at the congressional office of U.S. Representative Joe Garcia of Florida’s District 26, for which she received the President’s Volunteer Service Award.
Manfrin is currently at her fourth year at Tufts University in Massachusetts, where she is completing her bachelor’s degree, double majoring in international relations and quantitative economics.
