Harpreet Kaur is Miami Dade College’s first Fulbright Scholar from India. Kaur is a scholar in residence at the Wolfson Campus during the fall semester. Her responsibilities include lecturing Law Center students as well as speaking at different events to provide insight on topics such as women in India. Kaur works as part of the political science faculty at Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar, India.

“It’s been a wonderful experience,” Kaur said. “We’re all learning from it.”

The Fulbright program is a scholarship for students and professors to engage in international exchanges. Professors can conduct research and/or teach in different countries across the globe as well as have teachers from around the globe teach in the United States.

“Miami Dade College is proud to have received this prestigious award which is awarded to an institution as a result of an ultra competitive and lengthy application process,” said Jenny Cuevas, an MDC law professor who resided in India in 2013 as part of the Fulbright Scholar Program.
