MIA ANIMATION Conference to Be Hosted at Wolfson Campus
Get ready for MIA ANIMATION. The annual conference and festival focuses on computer animation, gaming, and visual effects, among other areas, will take place Oct. 16 and 17 at Wolfson Campus.
Its official website states the event’s fifth edition will offer “world-renowned industry speakers that offer master classes along with software demos and multiple panels.” It will also allow for individuals interested in the digital world to interact, discuss, and network with professionals in the creative community.
MIA ANIMATION was founded in 2010 by Mauricio Ferrazza, who has vast experience in the fields of animation, television, and film.
Keynote speakers will include a large variety of talents, such as Frank Gladstone, known for his work with DreamWorks (Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Shark Tale) and Disney (Mulan, Aladdin, The Lion King) and Phil Weinstein, animation director at Disney Animation and Emmy winner, who has worked as a storyboard artist on programs such as Winnie the Pooh and the Aladdin TV series.
Other guests include Marek Kochout, supervising director for popular DreamWorks films like Kung Fu Panda and Turbo and Conrad Montgomery who is currently a series director for Cartoon Network. Montgomery has supervised some of the network’s most popular programs such as Adventure Time and Regular Show.
Cleber Redondo, a 3D director from NBC Universal, is also scheduled to speak along with Yvonne Tio, a senior director at CNN.
