MOAD Hosts Art Contest In Honor Of The Freedom Tower’s Centennial

The Museum of Art and Design is hosting an art contest in celebration of the Freedom Tower’s centennial this year.

All media should revolve around the theme of “Home” and respond to the prompt “What is home to you?” Participants are also encouraged to explore additional prompts such as, “Is home a place, a feeling, or a person?” and “What informs our ideas of home?”

Entries will be accepted through Feb. 18. The contest is open to all Miami Dade College students who are18 years or older. Each student may submit up to three entries.

Winners will be announced on March 3. Prizes will include a $200 gift certificate to Blick Art Materials and a feature on MOAD and The Freedom Tower’s Instagram pages.

To submit entries, students can email a photo of their art piece to Jennifer Weinberg at jweinbe1@mdc.edu.
