North Campus Appoints New Assistant Dean of Students
Wendy Joseph was selected as the interim assistant dean of students at North Campus. She started her position on Feb. 13.
Joseph will provide assistance to the dean’s office, which offers academic advisement and refers students to services like Single Stop, ACCESS and the Office of Veteran & Military Services.
“I want to bring about a more holistic approach to solving student issues,” Joseph said. “My number one goal is to learn as much as I can, as fast as I can, so that I can be of assistance to my colleagues and students.”
For the past decade, Joseph worked as an outreach coordinator for Educate Tomorrow—a service through Single Stop that provides academic and support services to students that are homeless or in the foster care system.
Before Miami Dade College, Joseph served as program supervisor for clinical programs and family intervention at the Children’s Home Society of Florida from 2008 to 2013. For the past three years, she has also served as a board member for STEM Access For Girls—an organization promoting gender equality in STEM subjects.
Joseph earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Florida International University in 2002. Four years later, she obtained a master’s degree in mental health counseling from Webster University.
