North Campus Appoints New Interim Director Of Student Life
Stephanie David was appointed as interim director of the student life department at North Campus.
David started on Dec. 5. She will focus on helping students access resources and collaborate with organizations such as the Institute for Civic Engagement and Democracy for on-campus events.
“Because of my experience as a student at MDC and what I’ve learned from my life experiences, I love being there for students,” David said.
David’s career at Miami Dade College began in 2012 as a part-time tutor for TRIO Student Support Services—a program that offers academic advisement, career planning and tutoring services for first-generation and low-income students.
Six years later, she became the secretary at MALLs—a grant that provided learning lounges to encourage students to remain on campus to work on assignments, activities and participate in workshops—and was later appointed program coordinator.
In 2020, she was hired as the student life specialist at North Campus where she worked with the Student Government Association and planned on-campus events.
“She served as a mentor and friend,” said Mia Ruiz, who served as the vice president of SGA at North Campus during the 2021-22 school year.
Outside of MDC, David served as secretary and later vice president of the nonprofit Florida Caribbean Students Association from 2012 to 2014
David graduated from MDC with a bachelor of science degree in biotechnology in 2016. She obtained her master’s degree in organizational leadership in 2022 from North Central University.
