Reporter Alumnus Lands Internship At NBC News In Boston

Kevin Boulandier, who was a staff writer at The Reporter from 2020-2021, landed an internship at NBC 10 in Boston—a local affiliate of NBC News. 

Boulandier, 21, started the post on Feb. 23 and will remain with the station as a digital intern through May 13. He writes articles, posts stories, edits weather videos, posts on social media and finds trending stories.

“[The internship] has shown me that there is so much more to the news industry than just reporters and anchors,” Boulandier said. “It takes so much more than what we see on TV.” 

In 2018, Boulandier started a news Instagram account, @newsalertkb where he posts news about local and national issues. He has more than 1,000 followers. 

He began his collegiate journalism career as a staff writer at The Reporter in January of 2020. Boulandier worked in the news, forum, briefing and arts and entertainment sections. 

After graduating from Miami Dade College in 2021, Boulandier transferred to Boston University to work on his bachelor’s degree in journalism. 

At BU, he is part of a current events news show—On That Point on BUTV10—that covers trending topics.
