Student Selected For The Congressional Hispanic Leadership

The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute selected Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus student Angelica Perez for a Congressional internship in Washington, D.C.

Perez is one of four students selected in the U.S., and the only one representing the south region. Students spend 15 weeks working with Congress and attending courses at George Washington University.

The internship is designated for political science majors who have at least a 3.5 GPA. It includes enrollment at George Washington University for the spring semester, a $2,000 living stipend, housing in D.C., a monthly transportation stipend, and round trip airfare to D.C.

“I am grateful for Career and Advisement taking the time to inform students like me about [these] amazing opportunities,” Perez said.
