Tanya Acevedo Appointed VP For Information Technology And Chief Information Officer

Tanya Acevedo has been selected as the new Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at Miami Dade College. She started her new post on Sept. 13.

Acevedo, 52, will ensure that the College remains a data-driven community by improving application-based systems like the new learning management and customer relation management.

“All of these [systems] are meant to support the student’s journey and faculty in making the process easier and more efficient,” Acevedo said.

Most recently, Acevedo was the IT leader for the George Bush Intercontinental, William P. Hobby and Ellington airports located in Houston, Texas from July of 2017 through September of 2021.

Acevedo earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Michigan State University in 1991. Three years later, she received her master’s degree in business administration with a focus on information systems from Central Michigan University.

Diana Lima

Diana Lima, 19, is a chemical engineering major at North Campus. Lima, who graduated from Miami Lakes Educational Center in 2020, will serve as a forum and briefing writer for The Reporter during 2021-2022 school year. She aspires to become a research and development chemist and work in the pharmaceutical industry.
