The Books, They Are A Comin’

Bring out your reading glasses folks, the Miami Book Fair International is on its way.

Commencing November 11th, the annual book fair will kick off its 8 days of literary galore with none other than American author and journalist, Tom Wolfe.

Opening its doors at 6 p.m, the inaugural night will showcase the popular series “An Evening with…”, featuring Wolfe, followed by a screening of the documentary Tom Wolfe Gets Back to Blood. Another highlight of the evening will be  presentation by Cuban-American fashion designer Isabel Toledo and her illustrator husband Ruben Toledo.

The fair, now in its 29th year, will feature more than 350 authors from across the world, including writers participating in the IberoAmerican Authors Program.

The iconic street fair will run from November 16-18 and will feature more than 250 publishers and booksellers as they exhibit and sell books. The hundreds of thousands of book fanatics that are expected to attend can indulge in live readings, a plethora of street food, and live musical guests.

Other features include the Children’s Alley, with activities and special programs for children as well as a new comic and graphic novel section for kids of all ages.  

Tickets to the “Evenings With …” programs are $10 and can be purchased at miamibookfair.com by Friends of the Fair on Oct. 31 and by the general public on Nov. 7.
